How it works

785 million people in the world – one in ten – do not have clean water close to home. 40% of these people live in sub-Saharan Africa.

This year, we’ve all experienced uncertainty - for the world’s poorest people, this can mean access to safe drinking water . With our climate rapidly changing, clean water on tap isn’t a given for many. 

How would you build a future where everyone has access to this vital resource? Mobo Game Jam is a global game-making challenge that asks you to imagine this future.

Winners will have the opportunity to see their games showcased live, and will help raise awareness of the importance of clean water in the defence against climate change.

This year, we've all experienced fear and uncertainty. No one knows what’s next. But no matter what life throws at us, we all need to rely on clean water. ​
Our changing climate is already affecting our access to this vital resource, most of all for the world's poorest people. Now more than ever, we need to start thinking about how we ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to clean water.

With clean water on tap, people's lives and livelihoods are protected. They can meet their basic needs, stay safe and healthy, and work together to support themselves. ​
